Dharma talk "Looking to Pure land" preached by Senior Thích Chon Minh in the 104th Seven-day Retreat

On the fifth day of the Retreat of Dec. 15th, 2024, Senior Thích Chon Minh, Deputy President, Head of the Buddhist History Department in Vietnam Buddhist University in HCMC, Abbot of Hue Quang pagoda, Cu Chi had a dharma talk named "Looking to Pure land".

The Senior briefly introduced the origin and propagation process of the Pure Land Sect and the Pure Land Tradition in Vietnam. Practitioners who follow the Pure Land Sect of reciting the Buddha's name, aiming for the Amitabha Buddha Pure Land need to read and carefully study the meaning recorded in the scriptures. Do not understand superficially the words leading to misunderstandings and falling into superstitions. A cultivator who wants to be born in the Pure Land needs to prepare for this life, practice the life of a "superior good person" right here in the world. That realm absolutely does not have the three evil paths because there is no greed, anger, or ignorance, so the practitioner's mind must be pure in order to be born in that solemn land. Practitioners need to diligently practice good dharma, respectfully recite the Buddha's holy name, and learn His conducts to be worthy of being His nation's residents.
