In the morning of April 29th, 2024 at the Wheel Dharma Building's Main-Hall in the 102 nd Seven-day retreat, Senior Thich Duc Truong, a member of Directing Council of (VBS) Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Secretary-general cum Head Department of Vietnam Buddhist Institute, standing member of Dharma Propagation Board of VBS in HCMC, had a dharma talk on the title of “Protecting yourself” to the mass.
In daily activities, we often think of ways to protect our body but few people think about protecting our mind.
Full protection according to Buddhism is to protect three-karma body, speech and mind for purity. With this protection, no matter where we go, we will not be afraid.
In the Samyutta IV Sutra, Chapter I: Samyutta Six Senses – Poisonous Snake Part, titled Turtle, he reminds the listeners:
To protect itself, the turtle retracts its four legs, head and tail into its shell and lies motionless, ensuring safety from the lurking danger of the jackal. Likewise with humans, we must skillfully know how to protect our six senses: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind.
Finally, the monk hopes the mass always skillfully protect their senses so that they are not mistakes, then the practitioner will be full of blessings, will no longer enter three evil realms, and will be reborn in the heavens and the Pure land
Group activity program in lecture areas in the afternoon, Monks in the management board answer questions from Buddhists.
