Update: 08/12/2022
On the fifth day of the 98th Seven-Day Retreat of Dec. 8th, 2022; Junior Thich Tam Duoc, monks of Hoang Phap pagoda had a dharma Talk on the title Right practice without fear of death.
By the main idea of the sutta "True Practice Without Fear of Death" (Mahànàma), belonging to the Samyutta Nikaya, the Venerable reminded:
All sentient beings must die, end in death, as well as can not escape the death. However, the nature of sentient beings is "clinging to life and fearing death", so when faced with this thing, the mind often panics, regrets, fears, afraid of not knowing where one will be reborn after death? The Buddha taught: For those who have been practicing for a long time, the mind is fully trained in faith, precepts, teachings, giving, abandon and wisdom, etc, as a result, the practitioner's mind will lead noble, and enlighten.
- The Venerable recommended Buddhists "Life is short, dreams are long", practitioners need to lead a life of "doing good, avoiding evil, living good and doing good and choosing a kind life" right now, trying to keep lay people's precepts.
- "41. Not long alas, and it will lie down/ This body, here upon the earth/ Discarded, void of consciousness/ useless as a rotten log". (Dhammapada Sutra). Therefore, each of us needs to know how to love ourselves, diligently study, understand and practice the dharma, benefiting ourselves and others. One will not be afraid of death if that one practices right.
