On the sixth day of the 98th Seven-Day Retreat of Dec. 9th, 2022; Junior Thich Dao Quang, Lecturer of the Buddhist Intermediate and Primary Schools in and out HCMC presented at the main lecture hall had a dharma Talk on the title The Core in the Ksitigarbha Sutra, Part 1: Remarks before studying the scriptures.
The monk analyzed and explained in detail to the Pure Land practitioner, it was necessary to clearly identify the Mahayana sutras with the progressive thought of cultivating for oneself and others by skillful means. Among them, there are a number of sutras such as the Lotus Sutra, the Amitabha Sutra and the Ksitigarbha Sutra…The Venerable preached about the concept of hell. So, is there hell or not? According to the human and heaven realms, hell exists; or in the bodhisattva realm, hell is in the sentient beings’ minds. The realms are caused by conditions, arising in the mind that create phenomena and things. Good ideas will be associated with the realm of bliss; on the contrary, bad ideas will be associated with the realm of hell.
Thus, Pure Land practitioners need wisdom to judge right and wrong, have right views and righteous beliefs so as not to lose faith in the Three Jewels, avoid being led into the path of superstition and wrong views. This is the opening content (part 1) in the topic The core of Ksitigarbha sutra, the Organizers invite practitioners to follow Junior Thich Dao Quang's next lectures in the following periods.
The Dharma talk ended in the joy of the mass.
In the afternoon, there are group activities in the lecture halls. The monks in the management board answered the Buddhists’ questions after a week of studying, connecting the members together in the spirit of co-cultivators.
