Update: 14/09/2025
On Sep. 14th, 2025 (July 23rd, LC) Most Thich Giac Dang, Abbot of Ngoc Trung Tang Temple in Can Tho had a talk named: Who is the culprit? to all participants in the 106th Seven-Day Retreat.
People often fall into the mentality of complaining and blaming external causes, but rarely have self-contemplations in mind to identify the true root of suffering when facing adversity in life. According to the Buddha's profound teachings, all things in the world operate within the cause-effect laws, and dependent origination. Human beings are the owners and inherit their own karma, meaning that all actions of body, speech, and mind in the past and present will become a continuous series of karma, controlling their life. Correctly understanding the inevitability and inseparability between karma and its results helps practitioners eliminate resentment, thereby establishing an attitude of living mindfully and responsibly towards their three karma. Thanks to this wise contemplation, Buddhists will know to proactively sow good causes, transform karmic retributions, build a peaceful and liberated life in the present and the future.
After the Dharma talk, he spent late minutes answering questions from the practitioners about the lecture and applying the Buddha's teachings in life.
Group activities in the lecture halls in the afternoon, monks in the management board answer questions from Buddhists.
