Dharma Talk: You will see the magic, preaching by Junior Thich Khai Thanh - Sixth day in Summer Retreat 2024

The morning of July 15th, 2024 is the Sixth day of the Retreat. All students gathered at the lecture halls to listen to teachings named You will see the magic, preached by Junior Thich Khai Thanh - Residing in Phap Bao Pagoda, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province.

It's not something far away, but miracles are always present around us...just because we are not awake enough to feel them.

- The two most beautiful moments in every person's life are: When we have enough courage to do a good deed that we have never done before, or when we have enough courage to give up bad and unwholesome habits.

- Diamond and graphite - Understanding and compassion: Understanding is knowing how to eliminate negative things that empty your heart; Compassion is knowing how to fill that void with love. Under high temperature and high pressure, carbon minerals will transform into diamonds; Likewise, under the pressure of life, hearts full of love and understanding will turn into precious gems. So we should not be afraid of challenges and external pressures, we must make ourselves motivated from within.

- Antiques or used items: each person has different circumstances when born such as rich - poor, beautiful - ugly, tall - short, but they are all the same: they start with crying and end with dropping hands. However, what did we do and how did we treat others during that time so that we will become valuable antiques when time passing? The value of a person is not what we receive but what we give.

- Appreciate what you have: it is extremely blessed to have a human body, also more luckier for those who still have parents in their live. The love of father and mother is boundless, those are two extremely wonderful miracles. We should know how to appreciate, care for, and take care of our parents; Express love with a warm hug for our parents to feel happiness. Say words of love while you still can, so that if impermanence suddenly appears we won't cry out of regret.

Then, the Venerable answered all of the listeners' questions about the lecture topic and life's problems.

Speaker Hieu Linh's sharing session came to students through the topic "Living a meaningful life" in the afternoon. 

The speaker shared with listeners that they should love themselves more, slow down to quiet their minds, listen to themselves, and feel the life that exists. After a quiet moment of family stories, the speaker helps the young have the opportunity to look back and understand the love of their parents. Because of her sincere sharing, many tears of regret were shed because of mistakes, or the indifference of youth towards their two parents. Emotions overflowing, students forward to their family, know how to cherish the happiness of having the parents in their live, and vow to live a meaningful life, worthy of being good children who continue their parents' unfinished dreams. Thanks to the bridge of communication, listeners want to send their most loving, sincere, and touching hearts instead of thousands of words of gratitude to the two Buddhas in this world. 

In the evening, there was a Gala Hoang Phap program, young participants in the groups arts and talents combined with some performances of guest singers.
