Gratitude ceremony of Filial Piety class on the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day at Hoa Phuc Pagoda, Hanoi

On the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20th), the most meaningful day of teachers as well as of those who were entrusted by the Buddha, guiding us to the path of Enlightenment, we Buddhists would like to recite the following poem with the aim of giving our respect and gratitude to the world-honored one.
“There are many thanks in our heart,
We would like to send to you.
There are so many grateful words in our souls
We can say nothing, but we love and thank you.â€
On the purpose of showing gratitude and love to the Gurus, The Youth Buddhists Department associated with students from the Filial Piety class of Hoa Phuc Pagoda organised a gratitude ceremony on the afternoon of November 20th.
This was the special chance for the Buddhist students to show their love and gratitude to Venerable Sen. Thich Chan Tinh, monks of Hoa Phuc pagoda as well as Ms Thanh Huyen who has been in charge of the English class for a year.
Busy with their duties, some monks of Hoang Phap pagoda couldn’t attend this special event. On behalf of the Abbot of Hoa Phuc pagoda Thich Tam Hoa, Rev. Thich Tam Giai, also a monk of Hoa Phuc pagoda, witnessed the ceremony.
To begin the ceremony, students and Youth Buddhist Staff respectfully recited the poem composed by Venerable Sen. Thich Chan Tinh “Gratitude†to Teachers.
Subsequently, representatives of students and Youth Buddhist Department made a grateful speech to Venerable Sen. Thich Chan Tinh (Abbot of Hoang Phap pagoda)who is one of the ambassadors of Buddha.
The Venerable has come to poor remote villages and given Dhamar Talks to the Buddhists. At the same time, they also expressed gratitude to Rev. Thich Tam Hoa, Thich Tam Giai, Thich Tam Hao those who not only teach the young generation Dharmas but also give care for them. Besides, many thanks to Ms Thanh Huyen who is always a devoted English teacher despite rain or shine.
Bunches of nice flowers were extended to the Venerables and teachers as grateful gifts. Songs performed by energetic students also moved the hearts of teachers.
Touched by the love and gratitude of the Youth Buddhist staff and students, on behalf of monks, Venerable Thich Tam Giai gave thanks and Buddhism books the youth, students and Ms Thanh Huyen.
Before the ceremony came to an end, monks and young Buddhists ate “chè ngô†(a traditional Vietnamese sweet beverage made of corn) prepared by cooks of the pagoda together.
