Launching Ceremony of Ngo Chan Tu Foundation

This morning Sep 20, 2017 (Aug 01, lunar calendar), Hoang Phap Pagoda launches Ngo Chan Tu Foundation whose founder is Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh.

Sangha is the representatives of Buddhism. "Sangha thrives, Buddhism in develop; Sangha declines, Buddhism in ruins”. In fact, future of Buddhism based on the quality of Sangha that preaches Buddha’s teachings and leads people from ignorance to liberation.

After gestation period of how to preach Dharma effectively to benefit all sentient beings, Ngo Chan Tu Foundation has officially been established to partially shoulder varied expenses in educating monks and nuns of Buddhism Study Institutes (intermediate level) across the country.

Exactly at 8 o'clock, the launching ceremony has been solemnly carried out under the witness of Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, head of organizing board, sponsors, representatives from Buddhism schools of HCMC (Tan Binh Buddhism school) and provinces including Tra Vinh, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Hai Duong, Gia Lai, Binh Duong, Soc Trang, Ninh Thuan, Dong Thap, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Bac Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Tien Giang, Binh Dinh, Lam Dong, Vinh Long, Nam Dinh, Hanoi, and Bac Lieu Buddhism Study Institute (intermediate and advanced level) and devout Buddhists.

During the ceremony, the Senior Venerable, founder of the Ngo Chan Tu Foundation, has a sharing about the meaning of the Fund.

After ultimate Enlightenment, Buddha Shakyamuni turned the Dharma wheel by teaching the five brothers of Kondanna, first time forming Triratna in Saha world. At his time, Buddha has got devout followers, most of whom attained the Sage state. After Buddha’s parinirvāṇa, his disciples have been keeping on practicing and preaching Buddha’s Dharma.

At present, most provinces and cities in the country have Buddhism schools with basic, intermediate or advanced/University levels teaching renunciants and lay Buddhists. This is a good signal for Vietnamese Buddhism.

It is necessary for a monk to be a qualified one in terms of morals and merits. The teacher of Devas and human should be sufficient in morals and wisdom. A clergy one, who cannot thoroughly understand Buddha’s teachings or is lack of wisdom/ right view, will easily fall into the wrong view and lead Buddhists to the wrong/superstitious path, then ruin Buddhism accordingly. Hence clergy people terribly need education to perform his role at best. However, the abbot, with so many responsibilities as preaching, Buddhism activities, managing, … cannot have enough time to educate his disciples from A-Z. Hence it is necessary to have Buddhism institutes teaching monks and nuns.

After the sharing of the Senior Venerable, it comes the speech of representatives of Buddhism institutes, sponsors and Buddhist. Last but not least, the Foundation delivers scholarship and gifts to schools.

The program also includes performances from singer Duong Quoc Hung with the song "Quy Kinh Phat Da" and singer Minh Chien with the songs "Nho On Thay Co” and "Thuong Lam Mien trung".

The launching ceremony ends in the joys of all.
