Pravaranà , (Tu Tu in Chinese) is a ceremony performed by Buddhism monks on the last day of Summer Retreat, in which they publicly confess their offences and repent their errors. It is possible for the mass to acknowledge and point out the errors of the monk(s) to help him repent. A monk will review such feedback and sincerely repent on his errors (if any) to make his mind pure. Thanks to those advices that everyone becomes better and better deserving the title of Buddhist (son/daughter of Tathagata).
Beyond usual ways of secular behavior, clergy people apply Pravaranà with subtle and tolerant manner to build up Sangha a pure and happy community with harmonization and selfless aiming to the ultimate goal of enlightenment and liberation. To achieve that, we should try our best to cease clinging manner and tri-poisons (greed - hatred – delusion) in mind that are the main obstacles on our Path to the enlightenment. Every practitioner knows that.
