More than 3,000 people participating in the great ceremony praying for peacefulness at Hoa Phuc pagoda

Since ancient time, the peacefulness – seeking custom became an indispensably spiritual culture of the Vietnamese. In early lunar spring, people lead to the Triple jewel expecting peacefulness and luck. In this joyful atmosphere, on January 09th, Rooster year (on February 5th, 2017) the Pure Land mandala of Hoa Phuc pagoda solemnly organized the ceremony praying for peacefulness.

Accepting the invitation of the Ven. Thich Tam Hoa- the abbot of Hoa Phuc pagoda, the great Sen. Ven. Yoshimizu Daichi- the former head of the Buddhist association of the Japanese Pure Land sect- the former head of the youth association of the Japanese Pure Land sect- the abbot of Nisshinkutsu Pagoda at Tokyo - the supreme prover of Vietnamese Buddhist association in Japan along with Nun Thich Nu Tam Tri- the doctor of Buddhist study- head of Vietnamese Buddhist association in Japan came and proved, gave a dharma talk and wished happiness for more than 3.000 Buddhists.
 In order to express gratitude to the warm behaviors of the great Sen. Ven. Yoshimizu Daichi and Nun Thich Nu Tam Tri towards Ven. Thich Tam Hoa in Buddha’s affairs in Japan as well as their concern, help and cultivating conditions for Buddhists in Hoa Phuc pagoda, the Buddhist music program with the participation of Buddhist singers such as: Chanh Hoang Phap, Hoang Ai My, Bolero handsome boy Nguyen Ngoc Son, Pham Huu, Bich Ngoc, Hong Ngoc, child singer Chu Ngoc Tuan- the Voice Kids 2016 and the child actors and actresses from Tuoi Than Tien dance center took place respectfully to honour them.

Being joyful due to welcoming of the monks and Buddhists in Hoa Phuc Pagoda, the great Senior Venerable graciously had a dharma talk from Nun Thich Nu Tam Tri’s translation.

  During the Dharma talk, he heartily reminded that Buddhists, when coming back to pagoda for cultivation to have to set mind at rest, and when facing to obstacles to have to identify clearly two paths: life one and death one. When recognizing the two paths, we must practice much more diligently in order to change the suffering to the Pure Land in this world, cultivate and vow insistently until the day we can set free from the reward body to be born in the Amitabha Buddha world in which there are no misery. If Buddhists practice tranquility of mind and resting, Pure-Land path will be very close and in order to have tranquility of mind we must have thankfulness and gratitude.

 Besides his sermon, he reminded that Buddhists should cultivate many good deeds such as: chanting, reciting Buddha’s name, releasing life and building the Triple jewel for the Pure land soon. The native land which all of us was forgetable because of making our living.

 Athough Buddhists of Hoa Phuc pagoda cannot understand and perceive all of the Great Senior Venerable’s precious words because of language obstruction, the devotion and sincerity of the Buddhists on over five continents and four oceans, which its obstacles of language was not able to prevent the Buddha’s marvelous Dharma regardless of how big and wonderful it is.

  On the occasion of coming back to Hoa Phuc pagoda, the great Senior Venerable and Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hoa planted Sakura tree at the campus of Lumbini garden as a keepsake. The Sakura tree which are brought from Japan as a symbol of harmony and friendship cohesion between Pure-land Buddhism in Japan and Pure-land Buddhism in Vietnam in general and the sincere, precious sentiments between the great Sen. Ven. Yoshimizu Daichi and Ven. Thich Tam Hoa as well as Buddhists of Hoa Phuc pagoda in particular.

In order for the ceremony praying for peacefulness  attained more merits, in that afternoon, the Pure Land sect of Hoa Phuc pagoda solemnly  organized an altar for chanting the Medicine Buddha sutra to pray for national and civil safety and the world peace under the instruction of Ven. Thich Tam Hoa and the monks of Hoa Phuc pagoda.

More than 3.000 Buddhists who were from all classes and all ages came to two full halls and lobbies in order to chant respectfully, single-mindedly and created the affinity with the Medicine Buddha sutra altar in the early year. It is a merit-completing day because in the early year Buddhists can come to pagoda for Dharma, chanting the sutra, avoiding evil things, doing good deeds and dedicating merits to pray for national and civil safety, the world peace and sentient beings’ peace and contentment.
