After stabilizing the ashram at 8h am, all attendees came to the main hall, and learned about the necessary demeanor of lay people when coming to a temple. These help practitioners gain mindfulness and peace at present.
Responding to the Organizers' invitation, Junior Thich Quang Luc, Member of HCMC Dharma Propagation Board, Ky Quang II Pagoda, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City came to give a Dharma talk named We have joys.
In his teachings, he helped Buddhists understand more the human body is difficult to have and Buddha Dharma is difficult to listen to. Now, we have a human body and can go to the temple to listen to Buddha's teachings, it is a great blessing, we should know to cherish it and make diligent efforts to practice.
He analyzed using many means. In particular, the ancient Buddhist story named Five Drops of Honey is an example in everyday life where impermanence is present in every moment, and human life also gradually decreases according to the laws of birth, old age, illness, death, etc; Three poisons greed, anger, and ignorance are always hidden within each of us, so every Buddhist must try to study and practice to transform, gradually reduce, and not be greedy for five desires (property, beauty, fame, food, sleep, etc.); six objects is like six drops of honey worldly. Practitioners should accumulate wholesome and good things as their personal wisdom on the path of cultivation. No matter what the situation is, even if one is suffering physically, always maintain mindfulness in reciting the Buddha's name. To achieve that, Buddhists must always remember to think of Three Jewels and spend time practicing in every situation and every job, regularly participating in retreats and penance courses to accumulate the knowledge of Buddhism. If we do so, not only will we have joy in the present, but we will also have happy results in the future.
The attendees heard the lecturer answer questions about daily practice life after the afternoon cultivation session.
On behalf of donors, monks gave 50 gifts to families in difficult circumstances and diligently studying, including: Rice, instant noodles, notebooks and raincoats.
