One-Day Peaceful Retreat At Hoa Phuc Pagoda In Hanoi Capital

Continuing the cultivating program of the Pure Land’s mandala of Hoa Phuc pagoda, on Jan. 4th, 2018 (lunar Nov. 18th, Rooster Year) Hoa Phuc Pagoda organized one-day peaceful retreat for nearly 1000 Buddhists.

In response to the invitation from Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hoa, Abbot of Hoa Phuc Pagoda as the Chief of organizers, Senior Ven. Thich Giac Nguyen, vice chief propagation board of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association as the Abbot of Hue Quang pagoda in Go Cong Town, Tien Giang Province, arrived to the pagoda to preach a dharma talk with the theme of “Living and death is like a wakeness and sleeping.”

In this life, the human does not just spend one of its living, but ones have appeared its boundless livings in the circle of birth and death. Where have we come or started? How sufferings and anxiety have we come with us? All of them are our old karmas by causing from many previous lives. All people could not have the choice of their appearances, manner, or   family, etc; however, the Buddha taught our future decision methods.

The Senior Ven. conducted that a person was born with perfect body, happy family, good feelings in their behavior, support from good friends, and all good conditions because of their good karmas. In constrast, when a person always faces to enemies, debate, hatred, without help. All these problems have appeared because of their bad causes.

To Buddhist dharma learners who should respect, combine, and keep in their good conditions shouldn’t make bad causes and karmas for unacceptable result in after lives. The birth and death are always continuing non-stop. The livings that will end by the beginning of next life are like awakeness and sleeping. When living, the human’s awaking perception is like the activity of a waking person; in reverse, in death, the human’s perception is dimmed, which is like a one to be sleeping. The consciousness of human appears and disappears continuously. When having a life, he/she usually doesn’t respect its destiny, but before losing life, he/she begins to truggle, scramble for existence.

Buddhist learners must be conscious that the birth and death always transfer non-stop, as well as always pray for releasing the rebirth circles to the Pure Land. Wishing of rebirth to the Buddha Land, the practioners must equip its stabe fortune, It means persisting their belief in the solemn pure land of the Amitabha Buddha, the bold belief in His power and vows; particularly, this is the durable cultivation of each own Buddhist.

In the afternoon of same day, the mandala chanted the congratulation rite of the Buddha‘s birthday to commermorate His merit and invited all to attend the great ceremony of the Buddha’s birthday and the night of lantern light on Jan. 14th, 2018 (lunar Nov. 28th, Rooster of Year).
