One-Day Practice
Update: 29/06/2025
Good men and believing women everywhere gathered at Hoang Phap pagoda to attend One-day Practice on June 29th, 2025.
All Buddhists came to the lecture halls of Dharma Wheel Building to begin reciting the Buddha name, walking meditation and chanting precepts. After the practice, Senior Thích Viên Trí, Member of the Executive Board, Head of Board cum Chief Secretary of the VBS's Central Buddhist Education Board, Deputy President of Vietnam Buddhist University in HCMC had a dharma Named Patience paramita.
To attain Buddhahood and Bodhisattva hood, practitioners need to practice deeply six-Paramita basic leading to the perfection of wisdom and compassion. In particular, patience is essential to help practitioners transform suffering, face adversity with a peaceful and compassionate mind. Patience is not just passive endurance, but the inner strength of wisdom and deep compassion. Thanks to the practice of patience, Bodhisattvas can step firmly in the midst of a turbulent world without losing their beginning compassionate heart. Patience Paramita needs to be practiced completely in the form of body, speech and mind. It is not just formal patience but requires sincere acceptance without generating anger or resistance. This patience does not harm itself and others but helps transform anger, keeping the mind cool and stable in the face of afflictions. A patient person is not shaken by circumstances, does not get hatred, is respected by everyone, and can control eight winds of the world. To attain patience, practitioners need to live with mindfulness: recognizing emotions as soon as they arise, not being swept away by anger, prejudice, or instinctive reactions. In life, patience is also humility, knowing to admit mistakes, being tolerant of itself and others, and persistently correcting wrongdoings. Practitioners will maintain a peaceful mind, overcome all difficulties and challenges, thereby accumulating merit and getting closer to liberation with a mindful mind, understanding cause and effect, and realizing the benefits of patience. The dharma talk ended with the joy of the mass.
After reciting the Buddha name Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly in the afternoon. Before leaving the temple, Buddhists received book gifts.
