One-Day Retreat at Minh Chat ashram in Can Tho

Monks, Junior Thich Tam Hue, and devout Buddhists of Hoang Phap pagoda returned to Minh Chat retreat in Can Tho to attend the One-Day Retreat on May 18th, 2025. Attending the practice were the presence of monks, Buddhists at Minh Chat ashram in Can Tho and Buddhists at Hoang Phap pagoda in HCMC.
After breakfast, the monks guided Buddhists in the demeanor to fold hands, prostrate; how to walk, recite Buddha's name and raise a bow to offer a meal.
Then, the mass had the time of reciting the Buddha's name, and chanted the precepts led by the monks.
In response to the organizers’ invitation, Senior Thích Đồng Thành, Head of the Propagation Board, Principal of Buddhist Intermediate School in Binh Dinh, Lecturer of Vietnam Buddhist University in HCMC, Abbot of Thien An pagoda (Binh Dinh), had a Dharma talk named Resolving conflicts to lead a peaceful life.
To resolve conflicts and live a peaceful life, we should follow the Buddha example, practice the Noble Eightfold Path, meditation of Samadhi, and Vipassana. Practitioners should create a clear and careful mind, increase compassion, treat everyone with equal love, selflessness, and altruism. Practice a harmonious life, resolve conflicts in a spirit of peace. When each person knows how to return to nurturing a kind heart, the family will be happy, society will be stable, the world will gradually calm down conflicts, opening the path to peaceful living, compassion, and understanding.
Most Thich Minh Thanh, Vice of Director Board cum Head of Propagation Board of VBS in Can Tho City, Abbot of Buu Lien Temple had a dharma talk named "Message of love on Buddha Birthday" in the afternoon.
The season of Buddha's birth is to review His noble life, and compassionate-wise teachings. That is an opportunity for every Buddhist to express his deep gratitude, thereby practicing diligently, nurturing a great compassion, spreading love to all beings, together contributing to building a peaceful and happy world.
This event reminded us to preserve and promote traditional values of the nation, such as filial piety, patriotism, and mutual love among fellow countrymen. These qualities contribute to orienting a virtuous lifestyle, becoming a compass that leads people to truth, goodness, and beauty.
Last, all attendees went to release fish at the Co Bac ferry on Hau River. The mass chanted sutras, recited Buddha's name, took refuge in Three Jewels and released all of them to nature.
