Nearly 3000 students from colleges and universities inside and outside Ho Chi Minh City returned to Hoang Phap Pagoda to attend One Day Retreat for Students on Aug. 06th, 2023.
By the guidance of monks, a meditation sitting session started with cool weather in the morning to receive positive energy for a new day full of happiness.
After the breakfast, Junior Thich Minh Thien - Abbot of Duc Hoa Pagoda, Binh Duong province preached the theme named We are still there together
Each person has once to live and once to leave the world, no one remains to be together forever, because there are meetings and then parting without the opportunity to reunite. Aware of impermanence, we should cherish, live mindfully, and be fully present when we are with our parents, relatives, and friends who we love. The monk reminded the young when returning to the family, they should be really present together to enjoy the happiness they have. It is a very simple one next to, all around but sometimes we are too careless, do not look back to feel and appreciate.
As a Buddhist, we try to transform our thoughts and have our positive attitude towards life. When we know how to think for others, bring good things to others, it is also the time when the Buddha radiates peaceful energy and exists with us to protect and support. Let's live honestly, be true to life, good things and blessings will come.
Inspirational 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 session has a guest - MC Buddhist Dai Nghia at 09:00. In the program, he was extremely happy when he talked about the reason he comes to Buddhism, vegetarianism, temporary ordination, and vows to serve others.
Are we satisfied with what we have? Is all material things and status in the world true happiness? Everything is impermanent, temporary, only when we live with high ideals and good intentions, so we will have true happiness, and meaningful life. Each person should set a noble aspiration to help itself have a goal towards and motivation to rise up. When we live and work with ideals, aiming for the benefit of others, we will feel boundless happiness which is a thousand times greater than our own narrow happiness. Depending on the conditions, abilities, and circumstances, each person can contribute to the community, serve humanity, and spread Buddhadharma to everyone.
After that, MC Buddhist answered questions about vegetarianism, volunteering, applying Buddha's teachings to daily life to help young people easily perform good deeds, fasting and studying gently, bringing practical benefits to themselves, their families and society.
The life skills program of Vietnam Safety Science Institute in the afternoon was guided, and equipped by Ms. Diem Hang to the young with knowledge about injury prevention and safety skills: drowning avoidance, electric shock, first aid methods and emergency resuscitation posture.
