One Day Retreat for Students

On the evening of Oct. 04th, 2025 before the practice day, a crowd of the young eagerly returned to the pagoda waiting for One-Day Retreat for Students to be held tomorrow morning.
After registering and receiving passing cards, young participants gathered at Dharma-Wheel Building to listen to a Dharma talk named Mastering the inner feeling– The power of youth preached by Nun Thich Nu Gioi Bao - Abbess of the Vietnamese Temple in Kanagawa, Japan. The Nun gently pointed out practical methods to help firmly master the inner feeling when understanding the pressures that young people are facing. By regularly practicing mindfulness based on the four-foundation mindfulness, we will learn how to identify and control afflictions, master the inner self and live peacefully; strong and steadfast before every stage of the youth journey.
Over 650 students from Colleges and Universities inside and outside Ho Chi Minh City returned to Hoang Phap Pagoda to attend One Day Retreat for Students on Oct. 05th, 2025.
At 05: a.m, there is a session of reading the poem "Remembering Gratitude" compiled by Most Thich Chan Tinh. Thanks to this, learners will understand more the gratitude to the parents, teachers, the Triple Gem, the country and those around.
At 07: 30 a.m, the mass chanted Ullambana Sutra then began the cultivation day.
Next, all students listened to a Dharma talk named Going through nostalgia, preached by Bhikkhu Giac Minh Luat is currently studying as a PhD student at MCU University of Thailand at 09:00 am. In the years of youth, people are easily entangled in an unforgettable love, easily immersed in nostalgia, silently suffering from an unfinished love. However, "if you can smile at the person who makes you suffer, you have overcome the nostalgia " is a compassionate message like the profound advice, the wise art of love of Zen master Nhat Hanh. Young people who experience longing with wisdom and compassion, their loving heart is still vast and immense after growing up from the wounds of their clumsy love.
The students continued the sutra chanting named Eight thing enlightenment - compassion mind in the afternoon.
The day of practice ended with the joy of the young. Before leaving, the Organizers gave each of them a Dharma book gift.
