One day Retreat of Reciting the Buddha's name at Dong Cao Pagoda

On Sep. 22nd, 2019 (lunar Aug. 24th, the year of the pig), Buddhists everywhere returned to Dong Cao pagoda (Nga Yen commune, Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa province) to attend the One Day Retreat of the 8th time of the year.
In the morning, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hung, Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda, guided Buddhists the walking meditation and sitting meditation. Next, the monk chanted the repentant rite of six senses, reminding five precepts then freeing creatures.
In response to the invitation from the Organizers, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Dao, Member of the Cultural Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in HCM City, Chief of the Culture Board in Hoc Mon District, Vice Abbot of Linh An Pagoda in Taiwan returned to visit the temple, encourage the attending Buddhists, then he preach a dharma talk with the topic: The meaning of 12 vows of Reciting the Buddha’s name. Through this, he explained the meaning of "cultivating", "mind", "compassion", "wisdom" and "normal" being the Buddha teachings was written by Senior Ven. to the practicer of reciting the Buddha's name.
The afternoon is the time of quiet mind to observe oneself which was instructed by Junior Ven. Thich Tam Dao. On this occasion, receiving the nomination of all Buddhists, the Abbot appointed Buddhists Nguyen Thi Chao (Dharma name Lien Hue) and Mai Thi Trong (Dharma name Lien Thanh) as vice organizers at pagoda to support the Monk in the Buddhist work.
At the end of the cultivation day, the Monk gave Buddhists the book The Jackal and the Lion.
