On the beginning day of July 06th, 2026, all students were guided by the monks to chant the Gratitude verse to start a solemn morning practice; then, arranged places to eat, sleep, live, practice and study accompanied with teachings in basic demeanor in the temple.

At 14:00 p.m., Junior Thich Tam Truong, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda had a dharma talk named "The meaning of life's slopes" to all young attendees in the main hall. He encouraged all listeners to always be courageous, diligent, and strive their best to cultivate morality and knowledge by going to the temple to study, listening to Dharma talks from the monks. Those help to reflect on our own shortcomings, and gradually transform ourselves to achieve good achievements in life. Thanks to these, young people always remain steadfast in the face of terrible slopes, such as: illness, loss of loved ones, failures in life, overcoming themselves, internal conflicts in family, or the challenges of love. Last, he addressed activities in general regulations, emphasizing necessary rules, which help attendees have a harmony, peaceful and meaningful retreat.

In the evening, all attendees watched the trailers for the Summer Retreat 2026 and the news in the retreat, and learned together a song "Thank you for staying up late with me."
