Update: 13/09/2025
From Sep. 13th to Sep. 18th, 2025 Hoang Phap pagoda officially opened the 106th Seven-day Retreat with over 700 good men, and believing women everywhere returning to attend.
At the lecture halls in the morning, the Organizers guided practitioners in places to listen to dharma, eating, and sleep, as well as the necessary rules of Buddhists when attending the retreat, such as clasping hands, greeting, bowing; rituals to offer a meal in the lunch.
Head of the Organizers, Junior Abbot Thich Tam Truong had dharma words to all the mass in the afternoon.
The Abbot briefly introduced and explained the meaning of Seven-day retreat so that the practitioners could understand the practice. Simply, the Seven-day retreat is the practitioner to recite the Buddha's names and practice according to the Buddha's teachings in seven days. The retreat opens to create conditions for the lay people having the opportunity to cut world conditions, urging the body and mind to specialize in the Buddha's Titles. With monks’ guidance in the seven-day retreat, all practitioners strengthened belief in Three-Jewels, learned the sutras, and nurtured more deeply in virtue and wisdom. At the same time, the retreat chanting rituals in the retreat are like a pure bell for practitioners to reside completely in their body and mind. It is also the practitioners' reminders, repenting their mistakes, praising Buddha Dharma. Each practice course is a time that a practitioner sows the good seed of peace and intelligence. This not only creates peace for themselves, but also brings peace to the family and everyone around.
Last, he popularized rules with the purpose to help the mass understand, and diligently practice to get benefits of peace and happiness right now, being steps forward for achievement on the path of finding enlightenment.
