Peaceful Cultivation Day at Tieu Dao Pagoda – QuangNinh

In the morning of 16th. April 2018 (1st March, Year of Dog), there were 500 Buddhists attended one – day peaceful cultivation at Tieu Dao pagoda.
Junior Venerable Thich Tam Tinh, abbot of Tieu Dao pagoda preached to the theme: “Compassion word is one of captuhsamgraha-vastu (Four all-embracing virtues)”
What is ‘Four all-embracing virtues?’ They are four supporting ways helping human beings who know to return Buddha dharma and live happiness, peace at present and the future.These are almsgiving, ‘Compassion word, benefit and cooperation concentration. Compassion words is the second one.
Compassion words are gentle and soft words that comefrom a merciful heart, who loves others like themselves, not fine and formal words in order to please listeners. Compassion words bring peace to listeners.
“ Courtesy costs nothing.
Care for good words to contact each other”
If we all remember by heart this sentence daily, our life would be so happy. It is believed that human usually dispute due to speech aside from the name and profit. A conversation of two people who do not condescend to each other would lead to an argument. Words sometimes have unpredictable consequences. There are words that bring peace and happiness to people; however, there are also words that separate and break people happiness, occasionally destroy the gladness of the speaker as well.
“It takes thousands of words to cultivate a person but a sentence to destroy him”.
In the end, the abbot - Venerable advised Buddhists to practice four verses in daily life.
“Everyone, talk less is gold
The more we talk, the more sin and unjustness we get
So talk less a bit
To avoid affliction and slander”.
Finally, The Venerable and all the mass chanted Amitabha sutra.
