Pravaranà Ceremony at Hoang Phap Pagoda

In the dangerous situation of the pandemic of Covid-19 complicated developments, monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda organized the Pravaranà ceremony at the pagoda in the morning of Aug. 22nd, 2021 (July 15th, LC).
Besides the peaceful and harmonious manifestation of the Sangha, this ritual also determines the growth of the Precepts-Concentration-Wisdom of bhikkhus after ending the cultivation period; monks will continue to propagate the dharma.
According to the Buddhist spirit, the Pravaranà ceremony is a monk respectfully asking for another monk to show his faults on the actions that were caused by his body, mouth and thoughts. When listening to criticism from the other is right, this monk will sincerely repent to be pure. As a result, the Sangha becomes perfect and deserves to be a field of blessings for the donors. After this ceremony, a Bhikkhu added one year old of the rain-retreat, meaning will rise 1 year old of religion.
This is also an opportunity for lay Buddhists to make offerings to the venerable Monks on the final day of the retreat.
After that, the monks started chanting Ullambana sutra to pray for the peace of the country and people, as well as pray for rebirth for the victims who died due to the covid pandemic.
With the witness of Senior Thich Chan Tinh, Abbot of Hoang Phap pagoda and the support from Monks, the Pravaranà ceremony fulfills the joy of participants.
