Praying for Peace Ceremony at Tieu Dao Pagoda- Quang Ninh

Chiều ngày 25/02/2018 (10/01 Mậu Tuất) chùa Tiêu Dao – phường Hà Khẩu – TP. Hạ Long đã long trọng tổ chức lễ cầu an đầu năm.
Attendees of the ceremony were clergy delegations and abbots of pagodas and monasteries of Quang Ninh province. It was honour to welcome to the ceremony Mr Le Manh Cuong – Vice President of Vietnamese Fatherland Front committee Quang Ninh province; Mr Nguyen Viet Long – Head of nation- religion committee (Vietnamese Fatherland Front committee Quang Ninh province) together with the representation of other related departments, especially more than 1000 people as well as Buddhists inner and outer the city.
According to Buddhist conception, the meaning of a praying for peace ceremony is showing repentance of sin for oneself and their family, wiping out karma, giving up evil, practising good deed and do good actions such as offering to Triratna, release animals, giving alms, etc then incline that merit for themselves and their family, wish to have luck and peaceful mind. In the relationship with people, the ceremony is praying for everyone a quiet and easy life.
Beginning of the ceremony, venerable Thich Tam Tinh – commissioner of Vietnam Buddhist sangha Quang Ninh province – Tieu Dao Abbot opened the ceremony. Next, Buddhist Hue Hoa represented for thousands of Buddhists gave New Year’s greeting to the monks and venerables. After that, Venerable Thich Tam Tinh gave his lecture. At the end of the ritual, all the attendees recited the Buddhist scriptures, and Buddhists of Tieu Dao pagoda received Buddha gifts from Senior venerable - Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda – Ho Chi Minh city
