Public Screening the Film of “The Buddha’s Life”

In the evening of 12th Oct. (19th lunar Sep, Horse year ) was the last day of the ritual course of Five Hundred Names at Hoang Phap pagoda, thousands of Buddhists as usual assembled to attend on worshiping.

After the formality, the Buddhists gathered in front of\r\nthe LED screen to watch the film of “The Buddha’s Life†produced by Sri Lanka.

“The Buddha’s Life†film was produced by Light of Asia\r\nFoundation, in Sri Lanka, which was supported by Sri Lanka President and India\r\nBollywood. This was the Film to be invested with large amount of effort and\r\nthought. This film was acted not only talent actors, but also the\r\nconsulting of Sri Lanka Buddhist Associate, buddhologists, historian,\r\narchaeologies, famous cultural activists. That is a reason why the film\r\nsuccessfully constructed the image of the Budhha’s life suitable with\r\nhistorical background, the Indian social culture in 26 centuries ago. This was\r\nthe second time which Hoang Phap pagoda projected this one; the first\r\ntime of 13th Oct., 2013 when the 1st part had finished)

The main actor was Gagan Malik (who plays the Budhha’s role)\r\nalso attended at this show and sincerely answers the Buddhists’ questions on\r\nthe film, the process making film, as well as his emotional thought to it.

To be able to finish the perfect role, he practiced\r\nmeditation and ate vegetarian food. Gagan said that after finishing the film,\r\nhe officially took Triratna refuge to become a Buddhist at June 2014. Eating of\r\nhis vegetarian food has still remained up to now. Besides, he advised all\r\npeople should practice the Buddha’s teachings, do a good things everyday to\r\nhelp our life being more meaningful. After answering the questions, Gagan took\r\nphotos with Buddhists.
