Repentance ceremony at Suoi Phap Pagoda, Tay Ninh
Update: 19/03/2026
All good men and believing women returned to Suoi Phap pagoda in Tay Ninh province (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda ‘s Sect) to attend a periodic repentant rite on March 18th, 2026 (Jan. 30th, LC).
Abbot of Suoi Phap Pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Huong had a dharma talk titled “Bodhisattva conduct” before the ritual. Buddhists often revere and admire Bodhisattva's boundless compassion but they don't fully understand this noble title. Bodhisattva is a title meaning sentient beings enlightenment and enlightened sentient beings. "Sentient beings enlightenment" refers to those who have attained enlightenment by diligent practice and a great vow of compassion to save sentient beings from the three realms of suffering and lead them to peace and happiness. "Enlightened sentient beings" is the process of self-realization and the vow to relieve suffering, guiding practitioners on that path to deliverance. Thanks to diligent practice and a resolute vow, Bodhisattva generated four universal vows:
To save all living beings without limit
To put an end to all passions and delusions however numerous
To study and learn all methods and means without end
To become perfect in the Supreme Buddha Law
Thanks to understanding the Dharma and having correct awareness, our loving-kindness and compassion grow day by day. This dharma talk is a guide for practitioners to follow Bodhisattvas's conduct, make four great vows, and diligently cultivate six paramita which help good conditions in this life and the next.
After the dharma, the mass began the Repentance Ceremony at 7:00 p.m.
