Repentance Ceremony, October 30th , Horse Year

In late afternoon of December 21st , 2014 (October 30th, Horse Year), thousands of Buddhists in Ho Chi Minh City and suburban districts came to Hoang Phap Pagoda to participate in the repentance ceremony.

\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Before the repentance ceremony started, Buddhists had\r\nenjoyed a Dharma talk from Jun. Ven. Thich Tam Vien, the monk of Hoang Phap\r\npagoda. On the topic “The Time Principles”, the Jun. Ven. showed opinions of\r\nDharma about the time, rounds of rebirth and world creation as well as compared\r\nwith scientific doctrine and thought from difference religions.

It is many opinions about the world creation and its\r\ndevelopment, but the Buddhism showed “causal condition” concept, from which\r\neverything both material and soul are influenced by this law. Creation and\r\ndevelopment of the world are in “casual condition” process. Concretely, the\r\nBuddhism estimation is that universe and human have been governed by\r\ntransmigration-of-soul principle, so the time principle has been called\r\n“samsara”

From ancient time up to now, the human has created many\r\ndoctrine of multi- Gods and mono-God, whose doctrines originated from the East\r\nphilosophy to the West philosophy. But today, for the developing science and\r\nhigher understanding human, the deity doctrines had been broken down from\r\nscientific methods, documents about rebirth and “causal condition” principles\r\nin the Buddhism found out and confirmed. However, as Buddhists, we must have\r\nstrong belief with the Buddha teachings. We are the owner of karma and\r\nourselves, from which happiness or unhappiness is from our own and nobody can\r\nbring happy or suffering to us. If we have this decision, we will be the owner\r\nwho decide our action and correspondingly have good life at present and in the\r\nfuture.

After the talk, Buddhists officially entered the Repentance\r\ncourse as usual.
