Repentance ceremony on July 29th, Year of the Tiger

On Aug. 26th, 2022 (July 29th, LC), men and women Buddhists inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony.

Before the rite, Junior Thich Tam Tri had a dharma talk about his experiences in studying and practicing.

Faced with the insecurities in life, people gradually become melancholy and stay in a circle of suffering. Many people have sought spiritual refuge to find peace and serenity in their hearts. The practice is not only peaceful but above all, the Buddha has shown us the way out of suffering by the practice of letting go, free from all attachments, clinging, and suffering.

The monk explained about letting go of attachment, deluded beauty, lust for possessions, and status by constantly identifying and observing that the true nature of everything is suffering, impermanence, no-self ... to be able to abandon everything, practitioner minds will feel relaxed, pure, and happy. Finally, he reminded us that time does not wait for anyone, should quit an unwholesome mind, cultivate and sow a good mind so that the path towards the future is always light, empty, and joyful.

 After the dharma talk, the mass started the penitential ceremony as usual.
