Repentance ceremony on March 30, Year of the Tiger

On April 30, 2022 (March 30, LC), men and women Buddhists inside and outside HCMC to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony. Because the Covid-19 epidemic was still complicated, the ceremony was held in accordance with the new situation, ensuring the conditions for disease prevention and control according to regulations.

Before the ceremony, Junior Thich Tam Tri had a dharma talk to share with the mass.

On the occasion of the upcoming anniversary of the Buddha's Birthday (i.e. the full moon of the 4th month in the LC), the Venerable shared with the participants about the Buddha's grace and worthy of that divine grace. From verse 182, Chapter of the Buddha in Dhammapada sutra, the Venerable explained why it is very difficult for a Buddha to appear in the world: He must cultivate enough seeds of Paramita (10 merits of Paramita) to be able to achieve Buddhahood in a long time  (4 Asankhya (innumerability)  and 100 great kalpas).

Accordingly, he in turn told the stories of the Buddha' previous lives about giving, keeping precepts in accomplishing His paramita. From here, he wants to emphasize about the sacrifices and hardships to become a Buddha, because of the desire to save sentient beings, who had old relationships with Him before.

At present, we have the opportunity to come into contact with His teachings; therefore, each Buddhist regularly remembers the Buddha's grace by sincerely practicing His teachings, diligently making efforts in good deeds, avoiding unwholesome ones to bring benefit and peace in the present and the future. This is how to worship the Buddha in the most noble way.
