Repentance ceremony on Nov. 29th, Year of the Tiger

On Dec. 22nd, 2022 (Nov. 29th, Year of the Tiger), men and women Buddhists inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony.

Before the rite, Junior Thich Tam Khac, monks of the pagoda gave a dharma talk named Eight Awakenings of Great People.

In his preaching session, the monk pointed out eight enlightenments of great people: The world is insecure; the life is impermanent, Four great elements are suffering, not; Desire is the root that leads to samsara; Knowing enough is the basis for keeping belief; Diligence is the root eliminating demons; Wisdom to eliminate delusion; Generosity is the basic root to teach sentient beings; Precepts are the basic root for limiting to desires. When the practitioner sees the eight enlightenments above, he sees the way, often thinking and observing, diligently practicing, which he gradually moves away from birth and death, attains bodhi. To achieve this enlightenment, He presents the methods, contemplation, practice diligently, leading the practitioner to the bodhichitta that does not return, and attain peaceful enlightenment.

After the dharma talk, the mass started the penitential ceremony as usual.
