Repentance ceremony on Sep. 29th, Year of the Tiger

On Oct. 24th, 2022 (Sep. 29th, Year of the Tiger), men and women Buddhists inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony.

Before the rite, Junior Thich Tam Chieu gave a dharma talk named Person who Doesn't worry Far Will Have Sadness Near to practitioners.

Everyone's life journey is towards peace and happiness; but there are people who only know how to rely on other people, or evil spirits to make joy and personal benefits without knowing that suffering will follow. From the lecture, the Venerable told the mass to always be alert to themselves, be wary of external temptations to avoid getting bogged down in the path of sin; In addition, Buddhists should always cultivate understanding, diligently practice the Buddha's teachings to be lucid enough, calmly deal with things that are against their will, always live with a light and peaceful mind.

The monk emphasized that practice diligently, do good, and avoid evil by the maintenance five precepts and dedicate merit themselves to benefiting others, as well as accumulating good at a young and healthy age; don't indulge in enjoyment, so that sickness and old age won't make it in time, suffering in the three evil realms will come close.

After the dharma talk, the mass started the penitential ceremony as usual.
