In the evening of Nov. 6th, 2014 (lunar Sep. 14th, intercalary Horse Year) thousands of Buddhists inside and outside the city returned to the pagoda for their repentant attending.
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
As usual, before the repentant ceremony of Buddha’s names\r\nwas a dharma talk by the pagoda’s monks. In this time, Ven. Thich Tam Manh\r\npreached his speech on the theme “Seven methods help your mind be peaceful and\r\nhappyâ€
\r\n\r\n
The cultivators always hope their mind with peace and\r\nhappiness, but to attain that, they must have a suitable method. He explained\r\nseven methods as following:
\r\n\r\n
1. Knowing the cause: cause is the reason that relates to\r\neffect. People in life always fear of the effect, but they rarely think how to\r\nprevent from it.
\r\n\r\n
2. Knowing the effect: effect is established from the cause\r\nwhich we created. Bad effects bring to miseries and unhappiness; good effects\r\nwill bring to peace and pleasure.
\r\n\r\n
3. Knowing something enough: it means satisfying with what\r\nwe have, without demands, searches or following of worldly temptation and\r\npleasure.
\r\n\r\n
4. Knowing of ourselves: it means knowing our own abilities\r\nwhich will be suitable to situation or careers, avoiding bad things for\r\nourselves.
\r\n\r\n
5. Knowing use of time: we must know the way harmonizing\r\nbetween our own practice and family life that helps us convenient in our\r\ncultivating, which does not incline to any sides
\r\n\r\n
6. Knowing selections of good friends: it means people who\r\nare able to help us improve our spirit life, arise our personal and moral\r\nvalues.
\r\n\r\n
7. Knowing appropriate situations to help others: Helping\r\npeople, we will become joyful
\r\n\r\n
Each method brings peace to our inner feeling, if we\r\npractice, this life will certainly be joyful and happy completely
\r\n\r\n
After the talk, the Buddhists officially joined in the\r\nRepentance course of citing Buddhas’ names and chanting five precepts.
