Repentant Ceremony at Dang Phap Pagoda, Binh Phuoc
Update: 13/12/2020
In response to the invitation of Junior Ven. Thich Tam Quang, the Abbot of Dang Phap Pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Duoc had a speech with the topic “Respecting Dharma” for Buddhists before opening the Repentant Ceremony on Dec. 13th, 2020 (lunar Oct. 29th, Year of Mouse).
What is dharma? That is the Buddha's teachings recorded in the canon’s Tripitaka. When Buddhists take refuge in dharma, they turn to rely on the Buddha's teachings to practice. Because the dharma is the truthfulness that each person can realize in his or her heart.
Buddhists should have three things to think before listening to the dharma: The first is to respect the dharma, the next is to respect the preacher, the last is the preacher and the audiences of dharma should make their body and mind clean, calm when listening. Because this is also a benign cause, a benediction to help the three karma of body, speech and mind to be pure - peaceful. Happiness means what we have in this moment, right now and at here.
After the talk, the mass began the penitential rite as usual.
