Repentant ceremony March 14th, Year of the Tiger

On April 14th, 2022 (March 14, LC) good men and believing women in and out of HCMC returned to Hoang Phap Pagoda to attend the periodic penance rite. Because the Covid-19 epidemic is still happening, the rite was held in accordance with the new situation, ensuring the requirements for prevention and control according to regulations.

Before beginning the rite, Junior Thich Tam Manh, who is managing a facility of Hoang Phap pagoda in Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai province, had a dharma talk to share with the participants.

When facing situations against our will often makes us sad, angry, and become selfish and miserable.

The Monk explained carefully Buddha's teachings on the five methods of eliminating anger in the Sutra named Example of water, the 25th sutra of Middle-Length Discourses. The practice of this sutra will help us to have a lot of joy and peace in life.

Each method corresponds to different types of people; From there, we can customize our behavior when in contact, learn how to contemplate and abandon that anger; our hearts become light and comfortable.

In addition, we should see clearly and sympathize with people's frustrations and misery, help them to transform their sufferings and pain, cultivate a good mind, grow wisdom by our love, and compassion. From here, the distance between people is shortened, we will have understanding and loving each other, family harmony, and peaceful society.

After the Dharma talk, the mass started the penitential ceremony as usual.
