Repentant Ceremony on April 14th, Year of Rat.

On May 06th, 2020 (lunar April 14th, Year of Rat), devout Buddhists inside and outside Ho Chi Minh City returned Hoang Phap Pagoda to attend the period of repentance.

Before the ceremony, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Luan preached a sermon about the theme "Five Blessing When inviting Monks Coming Home".

All of Buddhists often think of doing merit, offering, listening to dharma, chanting, etc...gaining when they will make at the pagoda. However, they did not know and not understand the benefits when inviting monks to their homes. By this talk, the Monk explained five merits arising when a layman invited monks to go home to make offering.

The first blessing is pure faith to the Three Jewels. If we do not have absolute faith in the Buddha, then when we encounter obstacles, it is easy to shake and convert.

The second blessing is the chance to pay homage to the Venerables. Thank to this, we will learn the virtue of humility, help us gradually eliminate the ego.

The third blessing is to learn the virtue of ordination, abandon the mind being stingy, greedy, and selfish.

The fourth blessing is the gift of giving, regardless of small or large offering, mainly is the respectful mind of giver.

The fifth blessing is the listening of dharma will help better understand the Buddha's teachings, practice properly, cultivate the body and mind, and then grow wisdom.

Since then, the Junior reminded the mass again about the three things to do as following: almsgiving, preserving precepts, and meditation. Let us always train our body and mind, accumulate our merit, and do useful things for us and others.
