Ritual of visiting and offering homage Late Great Most Zen Thich Nhat Hanh’s Body

On the news of Great Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh ’s death, under the guidance of Most Thich Chan Tinh, monks from Hoang Phap pagoda visited and attend the entry rite in the funeral of the Zen Master at Tu Hieu Pagoda, in Thuy Xuan Ward, Hue City.
Most Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh was born in 1926 in Hue. He was ordained as a monk to study at Tu Hieu pagoda. He is the founder of Plum Village Monastery in France and many other centers of practice in the US, Germany, and Hong Kong, and Thailand. After more than 40 years since leaving Vietnam, Zen Master returned to his hometown to preach Dharma for the first time in 2005 and then in 2007, 2008…
In 2017, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh returned to Vietnam from Thailand, returned to Tu Hieu pagoda to recuperate and reside until today.
Because of old age, He gave up the physical body at 00 on Jan. 22nd , 2022 at 96 years old, at Tu Hieu Pagoda by following the obituary of Plum Village Sangha.
The entry rite for the funeral was held at 08:00 on Jan. 23rd, 2022. Cremation rite at 7am on Jan. 29th. The funeral will last for 7 days in the way of a silent retreat. During this time, the monastery asks visitors to practice "mindful offering". Please free from offering of wreaths and banners so that the whole funeral takes place in silence, purity and dignity.
After the cremation rite, the Most 's relics will be placed at Tu Hieu Pagoda and other centers of Plum Village around the world (without building a stupa to place ashes) to fulfill his last will.
