Verses Tet for my master Update: 25/12/2011 Going to the pagoda to wish my master a happy lunar new year\r\n\r\nOn such a fine sunny morning,\r\n\r\nI saw him in his simple dark brown cassock\r\n\r\nThis made me moved to tears at his mood of peace and\r\ncontentment\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHere, when a lunar New Year day comes which is also the time\r\nspring comes\r\n\r\nAnd my master accordingly looks older and older\r\n\r\nAt such an image, I suddenly felt pitiful for him and\r\npledged to lead our religious practice diligently\r\n\r\nIn reply to his merit during the past. \r\n\r\nDear master, how can I tell you?\r\n\r\nAs I have a weak standard of knowledge?\r\n\r\nYour heart is as generous as that of a Bodhisattva\r\n\r\nWho always saves everybody from their misfortune and danger\r\nanywhere. \r\n\r\nAs a habit, all laypeople receive lucky bags on New Year\r\ndays\r\n\r\nWhile a monk like you don’t receive anything\r\n\r\nAnd this makes my voice choked with emotion\r\n\r\nI myself wrote these simple lines of poem from my knowledge\r\nand respectfully offered you \r\n\r\n With a Tet view I would like to wish you\r\n\r\nPeace, and contentment, good health, perfect religious\r\nfaith,\r\n\r\nHappy Dharma, persistent Bodhicitta\r\n\r\nSo that all these may create a Prajna boat for carrying all\r\nof your disciples.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nI respectfully offer this poem to my master, Senior\r\nVenerable Thich Chan Tinh - Your disciple Lien Huong\r\n\r\nTranslated into English by Mr. Hoang Huan, layman.\r\n\r\n Facebook Google Tweet News Category Related News I understand… 17/10/2022 Mendicant Monks 21/08/2022 I’m afraid… 27/05/2022 Childhood - past and now 09/10/2021 I’m afraid… 28/09/2021 View All The news was posted: View posted in this day Posted to this date
