The 1st day of Summer Retreat at Tay Khanh Pagoda

Tay Khanh Pagoda (Cao Mai village, Quang Hung commune, Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province) organized the Summer Retreat for 350 pupils of secondary schools on July 23rd, 2020 (lunar June 3rd, Year of Mouse).

In the morning, participants went to the retreat to do the enrolling process. Next, the monks divided them into four groups, such as Lumbini (the birth-place of the Buddha), Buddhagaya (the place the Buddha attained Enlightenment), Sarnath (Deer Park - where the Buddha preached his first sermon), Nirvana (the realm of an Enlightened One when passing away).

In the afternoon, the monks guided children with basic demeanours, such as: clapping their hands, prostrating, bowing, and rituals of offering meals in the lunch ... he also explained and introduced them about the Buddhas, Bodhisattva to be worshiped at the temple.

In the evening, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Kinh, the Head of the Organizing Board instructed all participants to chant Ullambana sutra.
