The 3rd day of three day meditating - reciting the Buddha's name at Tay Khanh Pagoda
Update: 07/10/2019
On the morning of Oct. 6th, 2019 (lunar Sep. 8th, the year of the pig), entered to the third day at Tay Khanh Pagoda. Junior Ven. Thich Tam Dao, Member of the Cultural Committee of HCM City Buddhist Association, Head of Culture Departmen in Hoc Mon District, had a dharma talk with the topic: "Returning refuge in the Three Jewels" to all Buddhists at the retreat.
During the Dharma, Junior Ven. clearly explained about the Three Jewels.
In a hurry life, we always look for the needs of material and forget the spirit factor. The pagoda is a place for us to look back at ourselves and find out spiritual roots. The Buddha is only the teacher who guides us on the practice of ethics, can not be as the god of giving blessing or disaster. Dharma is the discourse given by the Buddha and His disciples. Sangha is the representative of the Buddha who instructs us on the daily practice.
By this way, the Ven. reminded we should come to the pagodas, take refuge in the Three Jewels, diligently do good deeds, and avoid evil doing. At the same time, we should attend retreats to approach the Buddha's teachings, avoid superstitions and regularly read the sutra to increase understanding of the Buddha's teachings.
After that, the Monk in the Organizers instructed the rite to release creatures.
After the Buddha recitation time in the afternoon, before ending of the retreat, Junior Abbot of Tay Khanh Pagoda had encouragement for Buddhists who learned the Buddha teachings, as well as the rules at the pagoda.
On this occasion, the monks gave each person a dharma gift, including Muddy Pond, Basic Buddhist Sutta. The retreat ended in the joy of the mass.
