The 4th gratitude ceremony to disciples at Dong Cao pagoda.
Update: 30/01/2022
On the evening of Jan. 29th, 2022, Junior Thich Tam Hung, the Abbot of Dong Cao pagoda celebrated the 4th gratitude ceremony to disciples who supported and completed affairs of monks last year, bringing Buddhadharma into the world, creating a pure land of humanity. As a result, when leaving this body, we are born together in Pure Land in the future.
Traditionally, a learner is always grateful to his teacher. However, if the teacher does not have one to teach, he cannot be called a teacher. Therefore, learners will be grateful to their teachers, meanwhile, the teachers also shine thanks to their students. In fact, all affairs at Dong Cao pagoda took place with great achievement, there are many factors to help results, but one of the most important conditions is the cooperation of monks and devotee Buddhists; especially, the Covid19 epidemic was complicated last year.
The opening is an introduction to the program from MC Lien Hien. Next, the musical part from the children of Young Buddhist Youth Club showed to the mass the song titled "The Heart of a Monk".
After the opening statement of the rite by the Abbot, there was a candle lighting session. The candles received by the abbot from the Three Jewels lit up the words "The 4th Gratitude Ceremony" which is the compassionate spirit and wisdom of Buddha's disciples. On this night, the mass watched the clip summarizing the affairs of Dong Cao Pagoda in 2021 and the clip of 15 years of ordination of the Abbot.
The monk had a few words to share with the mass. He managed Dong Cao pagoda with the spirit of "inheriting and spreading the dharma'', following in the footsteps of his patriarch, helping people to know Buddhism. Moreover, completed affairs at the temple are thanks to the devotion and contribution of Buddhists. Therefore, A Gratitude Ceremony is an opportunity for Monks to express their grateful heart to Buddhists.
Accordingly, Buddhists who joined the ceremony could reveal and share their thoughts about the Abbot, the practice and their wishes etc. At the end of the ceremony, the Abbot presented the grateful gift to each person.
