The 8th One-Day Retreat, and giving gifts on Mid-autumn Festival at Minh Chat ashram in Can Tho

Junior Thich Tam Hue and devout Buddhists of Hoang Phap pagoda returned to Minh Chat retreat in Can Tho on Sep. 24th, 2023 (Aug. 10th, LC) to attend the 8th One-Day Practice.
Attending the practice were the presence of Buddhists at Minh Chat ashram, Can Tho, as well as Buddhists at Hoang Phap pagoda, HCMC, 15 kids residing in Cai Khe Ward, Can Tho.
First, At 5:00 am, the mass chanted the Shurangama mantra, recited the Buddha's name and offered a meal to lonely souls.
After breakfast, the monks guided Buddhists in the demeanor to fold hands, prostrate; how to walk, recite Buddha's, and offer a meal for lunch.
Then, mass had the time of reciting the Buddha's name, and chanted all the precepts.
Most Thich Giac Dang, Abbot of Ngoc Trung Temple in Can Tho had a talk named Three-blessing purity karma to all participants.
Three blessing purity Karma is the basic foundation of practitioners, must practice from this basis to be able to achieve all dharma:
- Nursing to parents, worship master, keep compassion not kill, and cultivate ten good karma.
- Taking Three-Refuge, keep precepts, do not commit dignity.
- Starting with a bodhi mind, deeply believing in cause and effect, reciting Mahayana sutras, and encouraging people to practice.
After that, the Most answered Buddhists' questions on the topic of the lecture and practice.
By two hours of preaching, monks and Buddhists felt very peaceful and took it as extremely valuable wisdom on their path of study.
Then, practitioners watched the documentary clips of Hoang Phap Pagoda Charity Board.
Next, the mass had an offering of a meal, had lunch, and walked in reciting the Buddha's name.
After taking a rest, the mass sat in meditation, and walked in reciting the Buddha's name.
The cultivation day ended in the joy of the mass.
Completing the practice day, the Charity Board awarded gifts on the Mid-Autumn Festival to 300 pupils in difficult circumstances in Cai Khe ward, Ninh Kieu, Can Tho. Each gift includes: a school bag, 1 moon cake, 1 lantern.
The total amount for 300 gifts is 69,000,000 VND donated by LALA Company, Tra Vinh and some Buddhists.
At the meeting, Junior Thich Tam Hue shared a few words. He praised pupils' eagerness to learn, then encouraged the learners to try to become good children, good students and help society in the future.
Representatives of the Charity Board presented dharma gifts to the leaders of Cai Khe ward, including moon cakes and books named Cultivation at home, Retribution for Killing, Lessons of gratitude, Unfilial Children... composed by Most Thich Chan Tinh.
