The Beginning Rite of Preaching Dharma –Greeting Longevity in the New Year –Thanking the Medical Sutra’s Alter

In the morning, the mandala welcomed Nun Ven. Thich Nu Hue Tri, Doctor of Buddhology who is at Hai Van pagoda, Vung Tau City, as well as welcomed the witness monks who instructed to chant the Medical sutra and had a dharma talk with its theme “How is it right for Buddhists’ going to pagoda?” The Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hoa, Abbot of Hoa phuc Pagoda greeted longevity to old Buddhists, encouraged the Buddhists’ more diligent cultivation, so that their descendent will rely on them.
In the afternoon, Hoa Phuc Pagoda welcomed Honor Master Senior Ven. Thich Tien Dat, Abbot of Tu An pagoda for his preaching.
Beginning the rite of preaching dharma, the mandala chanted the sutra of “Teaching First Dharma”. It is the first doctrine that the Buddha taught His earnest disciples at Loc Uyen garden after His enlightenning achievement. This sutra summarized the main content of releasing path such as Four Noble Truth and Eight Fold Path. From then, he deeply analyzed The Four Noble Truth. It is the suffering, as well as its destroying paths and abandonings, reasons. Meanwhile, he explained the consequence of burning votive – paper.
This is an unsound custom and need be eliminated because it is not the Buddhism’s spirit. Besides, the Senior Ven. reminded their diligent cultivation. In fact, no anyone has the right of giving blessing to a one, it is caused by their own action. After the preaching, the Junior was on behalf of all mandala for his longevity greeting and graterful words to the Senior Master Venerable.
