The Ceremony praying for peace at Tay Khanh Pagoda – Thai Binh
Update: 31/01/2020
In early spring days, whether near or far, everyone sends each other good wishes for health, fortune, happiness, etc. This is a traditional custom that becomes a beauty, idyllic and indispensable culture in the Lunar Tet holiday of Vietnamese people.
Besides, everyone also excitedly comes to a peaceful place. It is the beloved pagoda with the desire of finding the peace, which eliminates the worries of the old year and wish the new year to be happier.
In the atmosphere of early spring, on January 29th, 2020 (January 5th, the Rat year), Tay Khanh Pagoda (at Cao Thuong, Quang Hung, Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province) solemnly organized the Ceremony praying for peace for Buddhists to attend.
Going to the pagoda to worship Buddha at the beginning of the year has become a spiritual practice of Vietnamese people. On this occasion, the Buddhists of Ngo Chan Tu mandala invited the monks to share the Buddha Dharma.
During the Dharma, monks and nuns advised Buddhists that they should go to the pagoda regularly to study the teachings to have a proper view of Buddhism. The pagoda is really a Buddhist school, so Buddhists going to the pagoda must always pay attention to the place where the teachings are taught and close to learn from virtuous teachers. Besides cultivating the teachings, they must constantly practice and apply the Buddha Dharma into your daily life. If we practice well and have a transformation, they can set an example for everyone in the family to follow. They should encourage all to go to the pagoda to study Buddha Dharma to have peace and happiness for this life and the next one.
After the Dharma talks, the mass celebrated the ritual of posting Buddha incense and chanting prayers for peace. The whole populaces has mindfulness reciting.
When leaving, the monks sent Buddhists the gifts named Spring Gift of Venerable Abbot Thich Chan Tinh.
