The Ceremony Praying for Peace in Lunar New Year at An Son Pagoda in Quang Ngai.
Update: 08/02/2022
In the bustling atmosphere of spring, more than 200 good men and women came to An Son pagoda in Quang Ngai to attend the New Year's ceremony.
Praying for peace according to the Buddhist concept means repenting of sins, excluding evil karma for peace of mind and body. Going to the temple to worship the Buddha at the beginning of new year, Buddhists should listen to Dharma to understand the Buddha's teachings, increase faith in the Three Jewels, and then apply it to daily life to find the happiness right now and know how to sow good seeds in the future.
Accordingly, Junior Thich Tam Khuyen, Abbot of An Son Pagoda, Quang Ngai gave a sermon to the mass. The monk talked about human beliefs with worshiping stars to relieve obstacles: Buddhists must deeply believe in causes and effects: Sowing jackfruit seeds, chili seeds, it will grow jackfruit trees and chili trees... doing good meets good, doing evil meets evil. There is no god, or saint who can bless or inflict harm on you. The stars in the sky are just a mass of inanimate matter, incapable of blessing or harming anyone. Therefore, Buddhists should not worship stars.
After that, the Buddhists invited the monks to offer incense to the Buddha and recite the Sutra of Wonderful Law Lotus Flower.
The New Year's Prayer Ceremony ended in joy for everyone.
