The flower lantern ceremony commemorating the Buddha Amitabha at Tieu Dao pagoda

On November 12th, Monkey Year (10th Dec. 2016), Tieu Dao Pagoda formally celebrated a flower lantern ceremony commemorating the Buddha Amitabha in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province.
In spite of the cold weather including of hoar frost which reduced the temperature down slow, with the respectful heart of the Buddha’s children toward the birthday of Amitabha Buddha;therefore, the mass returned to the pagoda very early for preparing the flower lantern ceremony.
The ceremony was witnessed and directed by Junior Venerable Thich Tam Tinh - the Committee of Buddhist Director Board in Vietnam in Quang Ninh Province, the Abbot of Tieu Dao Pagoda, the Chief of the Director Boards for flower lantern Celebration; Junior Venerable Thich Truc Thai Cang - vice President of Buddhist Director Board in Hoanh Bo District; Junior Venerable Thich Nhu Minh - the main secretary of Buddhist Director Board in Dong Trieu District; Junior Venerable Thich Chieu Tuc – the Sangha of Hoang Phap Pagoda, accompanying with the venerables, abbot Monks, Nuns every where returned to attend the ceremony.
At7.30P.M.,the Buddhists respectfully was welcoming the Buddhist dignitaries coming to the rostrum for witnessing the flower lantern ceremony.
In the opening of ceremony, Junior Venerable Thich Tam Tinh, Abbot of Tieu Dao Pagoda offered opening speech to the ceremony. Next, the mass were together toward the Statue of Amitabha Buddha for offering incense to Him.
In the ceremony, the most important part was the ritual passing of the candle light. The light of candles was the symbol of compassion and wisdom, altruism, humanity which was lit by honor monks, nuns and then was transferred to Buddhists. Lighting this is the one of light of spyche, right thought and awareness. Since then, Buddhist nature was shown. With this one, our life will always get the peace and contentment at the present and in the future as well.
At last, on the behalf of current Venerables, Junior Venerable Thich Chieu Tuc had some words to encourage to participants. He reminded that all should be diligent to recite the Buddha’ s name which helps our present life being peaceful as well as the next one being reborn in the Pure Land
The night was so late and colder, but the sacred scene of celebration was warm in the attendees‘ hearts. The Flower Lantern Ceremony ended in the sense of elation of the mass.
