The Memorial Ceremony of Late Venerable Master Ngo Chan Tu. Founder of Hoang Phap Pagoda

We would commemorate the Master who left for the Pure Land of Amitabha

Waving goodbye off the misfortune of worldly field

Ending our passionate sympathy

Golden lotus flowers bloomed to welcome Him there.

As a pagoda belonging to the branch of Hoang Phap pagoda, being the Abbot, Junior Venerable Thich Tam Hoa, on October, 14th (Lunar December 1st, 2017), Hoa Phuc   pagoda – Hoa Thach Commune – Quoc Oai District – Hanoi City welcomed Senior Ven. Thich Thanh Giac - Member of Propagation Board – Deputy Department Manager Standing Committee of  The Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation – The Abbot of  Pho Chieu pagoda – Hai Phong city. With Monks and nuns, Abbots of pagodas that are under the gate of a monastery of Hoang Phap in Hai Phong, Monks and nuns of Hoa Phuc pagoda and Buddhists everywhere came to   attend the ceremony.

In respectful and solemn  atmosphere of The Pure Land bodhimandala, Jun. Venerable Thich Tam Hoa, on behalf of all practitioners, declared the history of Venerable Master Ngo Chan Tu.

The space stood motionless so long, sequences of memories that were achievements of His propagation of Buddhism, saving beings appeared in practioners’ mind. During the difficult period of country, the time of war and poverty, He was of one mind to complete Buddhism mission and enlightened all beings.

Following the program of the ceremony, 14 Buddhist groups of Hoa Phuc Pagoda’s Bodhimandala and the pious class, Buddhist youngsters appraised offering to the soul of the Patriarch. Returning to Hoa Phuc pagoda on the anniversary of the Patriarch’s death, on behalf of practitioners Senior Ven Thich Thanh Giac talked to Buddhists about meaningful stories of the Master’s propagation and His achievements that the disciples have never heard. Being proud of later generation of Brahmacarya Monk, after Senior Ven Thanh Giac’s talk, all of child of Dharma and Buddhists who were present at the ceremony were more proud of Him. They took Patriarch’s action and vowed as the guideline for their learning path.

Buddhists appraised to the soul of Patriarch merit of cultivation.

In the evening of same day, Buddhists gathered to the lecture hall to recite Amitabha sutra.

Before ending the ceremony, Junior Ven Thich Tam Hoa had some Dharma talk to Buddhists. He explained how to practise cultivation path rightly, without any competition or conflict, and not to give up Tathagata’s Dharma about section of â€˜a tree trunk drown’: neither drifting on right shore nor left shore, neither being aground, nor being hooked. To do this, all of Buddhists have to keep right mindfulness for the body, the mouth, the thinking. And most important as Buddha’s advice, Buddhists should always practise contemplation of the body and mind and meditate on Buddha’s teaching, here and now.
