The New Year’s Eve of rat year – Welcome in 2020

According to Vietnamese’s tradition, at the moment between the old and the new year, people will stay at the temple, take back to the spiritual source and pray for peace and health of all family member in the whole year.

 Therefore, in the New Year’s Eve to welcome 2020, tens thousands of people go to Hoang Phap Pagoda to pray for peace, wish Tet the abbot having a new age as well as hearing some words from Him at the beginning of a year. 

After the ceremony praying for peace, Ven. Thich Tam Dong, Vice abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, on behalf of all the monk and the Buddhists, sent the greeting to Ven. Abbot Thich Chan Tinh on early spring. He expressed wishes Happy New Year to the Senior Ven., as well as showing repentance from him and his co-cultivators for what they are committed. From here, the mass will try their best to cultivate in order to promote the spirit of dharma and to develop the religion.

After that, the mass were listened to Dharma teachings in early spring and wishes Happy New Year of the abbot. Senior Ven. told three stories related to the mouse. With the 1st story of  Wearing Bell on Cat Neck conveying messages, in life, we sometimes have good opinions, ideas, suggestions, but applying in fact, it will not be suitable, difficult to implement. The second story The Mice of Eating Cat's Viscera aims to remind each person to control and support their six senses when they touch the six objects, so that they will not destroy our good things in life. The third story talks about the four types of rats symbolizing four class of people about learning and practicing the Buddha's teaching.

Then, the monk sent to red pocket and dharma gifts to the participants in the New Year’s Eve.

Everything is well done in the joy of all people.
