The repent¬ant ceremony of June 30th, Monkey year.

In the evening of August 2nd, 2016 (lunar June 30th, Monkey year) good men and believe women outside and inside HCMC returned at Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the repentant ceremony as usual.

This time, Junior Venerable Thich Tam Quyen who is the Sangha of Hoang Phap pagoda had a speech to the mass before officially opening the ceremony with the theme of “Meaning of Offering to Trirana”.

Alms givings, offerings are the things that Buddhists always practice, particularly on the occasion of the Ullambana gratitude season. However, with these ones, how did we do to be thought that it is an alms giving, offering being right dharma, in which no one may perform right. Therefore, the lecture was always explained clearly to help Buddhistsunderstand their offering and alms giving.

On his dharma talk, he told about the doctrine “Distinguishing of Offering” in Majjhima Nikaya sutra. The content of sutra mentioned to Mrs Maha Pajapati who had brought a new robe to offer the Buddha. Because of wanting she would get more blessing, the Buddha adviced bringing this one to offer the Sangha. However, she only wants to offer the Buddha.From this, the Buddha taught a dharma explaining about the offering’s meaning and method as well as teaching thefollowing genegations who would attain many blessings in their offering.

Throught this sutra, he instructed and analyzed the ways of offering and alms giving, the kinds of receivers, methods, and alms, etc, which ways is right and gain many benefits? Which ones are wrong without bringing usefulness?

Thus, it is essential matter, because nowadays, there are many alms givers, but the forms are not right, or their mind is not pure, which has been effected by fame, etc. On the “Văn Phat Bo de Tam” speech, Master That Hien taught “Vong thất bồ đề tâm, tu chư thiện pháp, thị danh ma nghiệp.” (It means that if forgetting Bodhi mind that we practice good deeds, it is an illution action. Consquently, it is dangerous, especially this one is toward cultivators.

If we practice offering being right way, as a result, we will obtain immeasurable, boundless blessings at the present as well as in the future with our beautiful body, longivity, mood careers, blessing of fortune, brilliant thinking, gaining the aim of cultivation.

After his preaching, the mass began the repentant ceremony of six senses and chanting the Buddhists’ principles as usual.
