The Repentance ceremony on Lunar April 14th Goat Year

On the late afternoon of May 31st , 2015 ( Lunar April 14th, Goat Year), despite the weather, thousands of Buddhists were not hesitated to visit Hoang Phap pagoda and attended the Repentance ceremony.

This ceremony of April was on the Vesak’s week. Spiritually\r\nto support the Great Anniversary, Junior Venerable Thich Tam Tien, the monk of\r\nHoang Phap pagoda, talked a sermon named “Buddha’s Message.”

 Sakyamuni Buddha was a historic person. He at\r\nKapilavastu castle in Old Indian (Nepal now). His father was King Suddhodana\r\nand mother Queen Mada. After seeing the nature of life, he left the palace to\r\nbecome a monk and eventually reached the Supreme and Perfect Enlightenmen. From\r\nthat day on, he went all over India, widely giving sermons and proclaiming the\r\ntruth over 49 years until he entered into Nirvava at the age of 80.

Great Buddha’s life from appearing, becoming enlightened,\r\nproclaiming sermons and the truth till entering into nirvava has already given\r\nus a wide range of invaluable messages. On the upcoming Buddha’s birthday,\r\nBuddhists, therefore, have had a better reflect and remind themselves to live\r\nby those virtues. He claims that everybody has innately Buddha-nature, so they\r\nall are able to become a Buddha. The point is that succeeding the result of\r\nBuddha’s way is thank to great effort to be ascetic for ages together with\r\nstrong mind and will. After gaining the wished result, Buddha widely sermonized\r\nand dispersed the truth no matter how arduous and difficult it was, which was\r\nalso his lesson concerning the proclamation of the truth. Entering into Nirvava\r\nwas a profound lesson about impermanence and unpredictability of life as well:\r\neven though he is Great Buddha, he is unlikely to escape nature of life.

Furthermore, his message is also about education based on\r\nBuddha’s spirit, which means that he equally gives sermons to everyone no\r\nmatter what social status, money status, or age of receivers is, with the\r\nforemost aim of helping human beings awaken and emancipate from transmigration.\r\nBuddha’s lessons are so flexible in format and interpretation for every level,\r\ncharacter, situation, etc. but still maintain the core contents. In addition,\r\nhe always emphasizes voluntary mind. He also considers himself as a monk as\r\nwell as a master. Hence, everyone should retreat themselves, and step by step\r\nfollow the Buddha’s way.

The target of Buddhism is disseminating compassionate and\r\nwisdom according to spirit of non-rebellion. These days, Buddhism is worshipped\r\nthroughout the world thank to its practical values and messages that Buddha\r\nbrings to human beings helps them live in peace and happiness. Buddha’s\r\nbirthday is coming, wishing all Buddhists comprehend his invaluable messages to\r\nappropriately cultivate and gain the most spiritual benefit.
