The repentant ceremony on Jan. 14th, the lunar of rat year

Good men Buddhists and believing women Buddhists inside and outside the Ho Chi Minh City went to Hoang Phap Pagoda to attend the period of repentance on Feb. 07th, 2020 (lunar Jan. 14th, the rat year)

Before beginning this rite, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Dao had a dharma talk to the mass. By the story of his ordination life, the Monk clearly explained the image of a cultivator, as well as meaning and purpose of ordination.

According to the Monk, ordination has three meanings: renunciation of secular life (leaving usual house), renunciation of afflictions (eliminating the root of greed, hatred and delusion) and renunciation three realms (escape from birth and death). There are three kinds of ordination: the body is ordination but its mind is not;  the body is not, but the mind ordained; both body and mind ordained.

The ordination people not only shave his hair, wear robe, chant sutra, or become a vegetarian, but also live with the ideal "above, to seek Bodhi; below, to support all beings", which means self practice for their interest and then will guide people. At the same time, the monk is a guide for others, the pedagogical person of the mass, the teacher of god. Therefore, ordination is necessary of studying, practicing and understanding dharma teaching in the virtue appearance and ability of deliverance. These are requirements for people who ordain to the Sangha. Sangha is a group of solidarity, harmony, tranquility, peace, joy. In case there is an individual being wrong, we should not equate the whole Sangha.

By this preaching, he helped the mass properly understand the virtuous life of ordination, avoiding misunderstandings of the Buddhists before.
