The Rite Of Abbot Appointment At An Phap Pagoda In Nghe An Province

In the rite, there was appearance for witness of Senior Ven. Thich Lac Tho, the vice - chief of permanent board of the director board of Vietnam Buddhist Association in Nghe An Province, as well as Ven. Sanghas and all Buddhist followers belonging to inside and outside Nghe An Province.
In the rite, the Senior Ven. had some words to the Junior Abbot Ven. about his propagation in the future.
The responsibility of an abbot is so important in the development of a pagoda. Abbot means that “A Dharma Director, Tathagata’s canon keeperâ€, the one to know how to quit wealth for purity, as well as devote body for enlightenment. The goal and will of a cultivator who should learn the Buddha’s teachings first, and then support all beings. He or she should not be neglected practice and be lost the noble mind of a home-leaving person. An abbot is like a rower who transfers their passengers across a river. He or she has not to be attached, infected any things and always be carefree on its enlightening path. Let remember gratitude to an assistant who helps your affairs, and not behave his or her as a servant. Pride and arrogance cause defilement to cultivators’ mind. The ones who are modest and respect others will be loved by co-cultivators and Buddhists. Last words, the Senior Ven. highly appreciated the abbot who has had practical activities of his propagation in the recent time.
