The second cultivation day of three day meditating - reciting the Buddha's name at Tay Khanh Pagoda
Update: 06/10/2019
The second cultivation day of three day meditating - reciting the Buddha's name would be held at Tay Khanh Pagoda on Oct. 5th, 2019 (lunar Sep. 7th, the year of the pig).
After breakfast, Buddhists respectfully welcomed Most Ven. Thich Buu Chanh, Abbot of Phuoc Son Zen Monastery, Dong Nai to share Buddha Dharma through the topic: It Is Hard To Obtain Four Things.
During the Dharma teaching, the Master quoted in the Dhammapada scriptures then clearly analyzed the "Four difficult things" as following:
- The first is difficult to be born as a human.
- The second is difficult to live long.
- The third is difficult to hear the dharma teachings.
- The last is difficult to meet the appearing of Buddha.
In a busy life for the seeking of happiness, we often easily trample on the honor of others, as well as betraying and harming others due to the personal benefits. Along with the modernization, people cause pollution of the surrounding environment. Next, the material needs of people are higher, craving is growing, but the place of learning to the Buddha teachings is very little, as well as there are few temples can organize the courses of cultivation for Buddhists to attend.
Through this, the Venerable advised the mass who should abandon the heart of arrogance, practice quitting out of the anger, cultivate patience, etc., so that we become true Buddhists.
By small stories from Most Ven., that it conveys valuable lessons helping Buddhists better understand the teachings of Buddha.
